Kid's Summer Art Camp
For those visiting or living in North Lake Tahoe, don’t miss this opportunity to immerse your children in the Kids Art Camp. Brought to you by North Tahoe Arts, this summer Art Camp is perfect for children ages 5 to 12.
Children will learn many art mediums, which is an excellent way of helping them to develop self-expression and self-esteem.
Art is not considered a core curriculum in many public schools. Without art, however, children can fall prey to only peer pressure. Art encourages the development of inner vision and allows children to hear their inner drummer.
Art can increase confidence and build skills that will benefit children throughout their lives.
About North Tahoe Arts
The Sierra Artists Network was established in North Tahoe in 1985 as a means for local artists to meet, network and gather together to sell their art. The organization evolved into North Tahoe Arts, becoming a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1990. Their mission is to increase community exposure and access to the arts in Truckee and North Lake Tahoe.
They invite the public to view and participate in the arts through exhibits, workshops, camps, and special events that take place at their Tahoe City Artisan shop and new King’s Beach Art Center opening June 17, 2022.
Kids Art Camp
This summer day camp is for kids ages 5-12, designed to expose campers to a variety of styles of art and different mediums. They lead hands-on fun in a supportive environment where campers get creative alongside their peers, led by an experienced, kind, and warm staff of art teachers.
There are six sessions you can sign up for:
Session 1 June 24-28
Session 2 July 1-3
Session 3 July 8-12
Session 4 July 15-19
Session 5 July 22-26
Session 6 July 29-Aug 2
Time: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Friday: Art Show for parents and families at 12:15 p.m.
Location: North Tahoe Art Center, Kings Beach, 8731 N. Lake Blvd

This camp takes place in the fenced backyard at North Tahoe Art Center. Shade sails and tents are provided to keep out of the sun. Each day children will begin with a morning circle to connect with one another and give a description of the projects for the day. Campers will be placed in small group pods based on their age, and rotate through a variety of art projects each day.
During camp, art projects will include ceramics, drawing and painting, sculpture, collage, and more! A daily snack break will be taken each day.
Camp goes until 1 p.m. so please pack a heavy snack for your child to sustain them through lunchtime. The area is mostly shaded but some sun exposure is possible, so be sure to apply sunscreen before each day.
