What is the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance?

First held in 1972, the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance has become one of the country’s premier showcases of antique and classic wooden boats. Owners from across North America transport their prized vessels to Tahoe, where expert judges evaluate everything from authenticity and restoration quality to mechanical condition and historical significance.

More than a competition, the event celebrates the artistry of handcrafted mahogany runabouts, elegant cruisers, and iconic vintage boats that defined recreational boating throughout the 20th century. For 2026, the featured Marque Class is Riva, the legendary Italian boatbuilder renowned for producing some of the world’s most luxurious wooden speedboats.

Thursday, August 6

The festivities begin with the Opening Night Celebration, an evening gathering that welcomes exhibitors, sponsors, and guests before the official show opens. It’s the perfect kickoff to one of Tahoe’s signature summer weekends.

Friday, August 7

The first day of the Concours is often considered the most relaxed opportunity to admire the remarkable collection of boats.
