Tahoe City Oktoberfest 2023
The annual Oktoberfest will be held in Tahoe City from 12 to 5pm on September 23, 2024. Join us at the Gatekeeper’s Museum in the William B. Layton State Park in downtown Tahoe City for this festive fall event. All ages are welcome.
Enjoy a wide selection of Bavarian-themed food and delicious craft beers brewed in Lake Tahoe and Truckee’s regional breweries. The event will feature live music from Coburn Station, where Christiane Georgi plays a bavarian inspired accordion.
Guests will have the opportunity to participate in fun games like the Stein squat, Yodel Contest, and Weiner toss. Make special Oktoberfest pretzel necklaces, or explore the Vendor Village featuring North Tahoe’s most talented artisan makers.
Get into the spirit by dressing up in your finest Bavarian costumes, lederhosen and feathered caps. Prizes will be awarded to game contestants and for best costumes.
If you are a seasoned runner or just happy to stroll along the river in your costume, you can sign up to experience the thrill of the Lederhosen 5K. The course starts and finishes near the iconic Fanny Bridge in Tahoe City, offering picturesque views and a dynamic atmosphere. You’ll follow an out-and-back route on a paved trail alongside the scenic Truckee River. Sign up for the Lederhosen 5K here.
In addition to fun for adults, kids will enjoy an array of activities that include pumpkin painting, and balloon twisting. This event is an excellent opportunity for children to express their creativity, guided by North Tahoe Arts, Inspired Balloons, and Coloring Corner. They can also participate in the Story Trail courtesy of TC Friends of the Library.
Tickets are just $20 if you pay in advance, or pay $25 on the day, which includes a commemorative Oktoberfest beer glass and two drink tokens. Purchase tickets here.
The free Bike Valet service will allow guests to ride into town safely, ensuring a stress-free and eco-friendly form of transportation. Public transportation will be available via the FREE on-demand TART Connect Services and TART Bus.
